Speed and Quality in Construction. Made in Russia
PPJ — Pin-type Pile Joint
The pin-type method of joining precast pile sections has been known for more than half a century and is widely used around the world. Until recently, however, it remained an unfamiliar imported technology for Russian construction companies.

A pin-type joint consists of two embedded components installed at the ends of precast pile sections during manufacturing at a precast concrete plant. Each embedded component incorporates a locking mechanism.

During pile driving on the construction site, the corresponding locking mechanisms of the lower and upper pile sections are connected using pins. The pins are simply driven into place with a standard sledgehammer, and the process takes just a few minutes.

By comparison, making a welded joint — including welding, weld quality inspection and two-stage anti-corrosion treatment — takes between one and one and a half hours.

The PPJ is the Russian implementation of the pin-type joining method.

The load-bearing element of the PPJ, which withstands tensile, shear and bending loads, is the reinforcing bar anchor–lock system. The component's surrounding steel sleeve provides additional reinforcement to the cross-section in the joint area during impact pile driving.
Confirmation of the technicalcharacteristics of the joint
Mechanical Strength of the Joint
The PPJ has strength equivalent to that of the reinforced concrete pile body, as confirmed by test results.
The load-bearing capacity of the assembled pile is maintained by preserving the cross-sectional area in the joint zone.
The surrounding steel sleeve reinforces the joint area against dynamic loads during impact pile driving.
Integral Anti-Corrosion Protection
The reinforcing bar anchor and its welded connection to the locking element have built-in primary anti-corrosion protection. These components are embedded in concrete and therefore have no direct contact with the aggressive environment.
The interlocking components are located inside the PPJ assembly and are not in direct contact with the aggressive environment.
The locking components are filled with protective preservation grease at the factory. During joint assembly, the grease fills all cavities and clearances in the PPJ connection.
The driving pin is made of steel with enhanced corrosion resistance. In the standard configuration, it has a chemically oxidized surface coating.

Speed and Quality of Construction Work
The total time required to connect precast reinforced concrete pile sections ranges from 2 to 8 minutes. Pile-driving records.
The design ensures the quality of both the joint and the assembled pile.
No anti-corrosion treatment of the joint is required on the construction site.
Quality control is limited to verifying that the pins have been driven in flush with the surrounding sleeve.
A Fully Russian-Made Product
PPJ products are manufactured in accordance with Technical Specification TU 25.11.23-001-98399092-2023, “PPJ Pin-type Pile Joint,” at the company's own production facility in Alapayevsk, Sverdlovsk Region, Russia.
All materials and components are domestically produced.
Product Range
The PPJ embedded-component type is designated according to the following format:
[Pile cross-section, cm]. [Diameter of the component's reinforcing bar anchor, mm] – [Length of the component's reinforcing bar anchor, mm]
